A place to sit

When we bought this house, we merged all the furniture in our apartments. Much of mine was from IKEA... or banged up items I managed to take when I left Boys Hope. Much of B's was hand-me-down. We decided to buy new furniture room by room... starting with the living and dining rooms so we could entertain. Here's what we have so far:

A new leather sofa and loveseat. The pillows are ugly, but they were free. The coffee table is a storage ottoman I got at IKEA a few years back. Eventually we'll replace it with something else, but we can't seem to find a table that's just right. The entertainment center is from B's apartment. It fits the space, but isn't very stylish. Next up:

A new dining room table! This is my favorite purchase so far... mainly because we don't have to eat on the couch anymore! Neither of us had a table at our old apartments, so this is a treat. We got a great mirror at Pier 1 that's sitting in the corner right now... but will eventually be the focal point of our dining room and inspiration for decorating.

The bedrooms still have a long way to come. We have limited storage and too much stuff! As you can see, the guest room is stuffed to the gills... and we desperately need new dressers.

I plan to fix both those problems with a trip to IKEA.

Eventually the house reflect our personality. Right now, we're focused on the basics... but I can't wait to start decorating!
